After 3.5 years, the Pullen Arts Center (located at 105 Pullen Rd.) is getting back into the swing of things + beginning to show the public its renovations. We’re counting down the days until the ribbon cutting ceremony on Weds., Sept. 1 — but until then, the RALtoday team is showing readers a sneak peek.
The Pullen Arts Center is classified as an arts education facility that offers a plethora of programming, gallery exhibitions + studio access. Programming includes classes such as glass work, pottery, painting, and jewelry making. View fall classes and programs here.
The gallery space will highlight emerging + established artists. The space is free for the public to explore and will change every 2-3 months.

The original building was built in 1961 and was in need of a makeover. The center received $6 million from a 2014 Parks Bond Referendum and planning for the project began in 2016, with a goal of increasing accessibility + connection. The renovations now connect the Pullen Arts Center with Theatre in the Park, the Gregg Museum, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Other renovations include a new ventilation system, sinks in each studio, more locker space + improved work equipment — aka: new kilns, drawing desks, easels, and more. We can’t stop thinking about all the new floor-to-ceiling windows that add tons of natural light.
The center is currently open for scheduled classes, scheduled tours, studio orientations, and scheduled gallery visits. After the ribbon-cutting on Weds., Sept. 1, the center will operate under normal hours and begin offering memberships for studio time.
